What type of video capture card do I need to build my own PC based security recorder? Always
make sure to use a video card that is compatible with your existing
motherboard. We suggest doing some research on the type of PC you
currently own or are planning to use as your security recorder. There
are minimum requirements for each capture card and therefore planning is
the key to determining what type of security recorder you would like
build.
Is it difficult to build my own PC based security recorder (DVR)?
Once you've decide on the type of security system you want to build,
simple order the capture card and installation is quick and easy. It's
a simple as plugging the card into an empty PCI slot inside your PC,
connecting the cable to the motherboard, installing the including
software and than setting up your recording. Yes, there are a few more
steps in between, but once these are done, simply connect your cameras,
set your recording times and you are good!
