HDcctv is all about HDTV-quality video surveillance over coax!
By using broadcast compliant high definition video signals (HDTV) and
transmitting these signals digitally over conventional CCTV cable
without 'packetization', this give us the ability to produce High
Definition video without the compression latency that is experienced in
IP Cameras.
HDcctv uses Serial Digital Interface (SDI) transmission, used by the broadcast industry for transmission of HDTV signals. SDI transmits 720P and 1080P resolution over coaxial cable, uncompressed and non-packetized. Just like analog, SDI starts streaming out of the source (camera), line by line to a receiver (DVR) with no latency. SDI is based on the work of SMPTE for the broadcast industry.
What's the learning curve? There is no additional training required to install HD-CCTV because there is no difference between an analog and HD-CCTV installation. An installer simply uses quality coax and replaces the existing analog cameras and DVR with an HD-CCTV DVR and HD-CCTV cameras. This allows installers to offer HD resolution images where needed without having to replace an entire surveillance system, no need to learn IP to achieve high definition images and no networking required for each camera installation...making this a seamless transition from Analog to HD-CCTV.
